FAQ for the Wedding
Can children attend the wedding and the reception?
Children are welcome to attend this celebration. Our wedding is a family affair! At the reception, their will be a children's room with supervision for your child to get away from the reception. This room is for children 10 years old and under. Please note that if you would like to have your child use the room during the reception, only the person who drops them off can pick up the child. This is for their safety.
What do I need to know about parking?
There is limited parking at the ceremony site. We recommend car pooling to the ceremony, however, know that when you arrive near the lake, someone will be there to assist you with parking. There is plenty of parking at the reception site and there will be wedding army members helping you park at the reception location.
What does a potluck reception mean?
We are asking that our guests bring a dish to share. We are expecting so many awesome people and looking forward to an eclectic spread that everyone will be able to enjoy picnic style. You are welcome to bring your dish to the reception location anytime after 12 noon on the day of the wedding. Dishes will be accepted until 3 PM.
You can also bring your dish with you when arriving for the reception. When you arrive for the reception, simply take your dish to the barn and someone from the wedding army will assist you.
Why do you need my email address?
Email will be helpful if there is information that the couple needs to get to you before the wedding. Mailing address is helpful so that we can make sure we get out thank yous to everyone.
Will there be karaoke?
There will not be karaoke at the reception. We will enjoy the DJ music for dancing and a good time. HOWEVER, there will be an AFTER PARTY when the reception ends! There will be karaoke starting at 10:00 PM as we roast hot dogs and make smores around the bonfire.
I'm coming from out of town. Did you reserve a block of rooms at a hotel?
With the wedding taking place in Central Florida, so close to Disney World and other world famous attractions, there are WAY TO MANY great hotels and resorts in the area to choose one for you. If you are coming from out of town, we highly recommend coming a few days ahead of the schedule and take advantage of weather and attractions in the area. Pick a hotel that suits the area you want to be in.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever will make you comfortable. Pay attention to the weather and realize that we will be outside in early November. Weather in Florida is pretty mild and should be comfortable. Heels are not recommended due to both the ceremony and the reception taking place on grassy area.
Where are you registered for gifts?
We haven't registered for gifts. If you have a gift in mind that you would like to give, it will be welcome with a smile. If you can't think of anything, consider contributing to our honeymoon fund.
Did you say picnic?! Do I have to sit on the ground?!
No! We will be providing a chair for you to sit in. However, we are outside in the evening. November's in Florida are pretty mild and we are hoping for great weather. However, if you think you'll be chilly, bring a sweater or a blanket to keep yourself comfortable. You can also bring a cushion for your chair if you think that would help you. We want you comfortable!
What if I have a problem finding the location of the wedding or reception on the day of the wedding?
If you find yourself lost on the wedding day and are in need of directions, please contact ??? from the wedding army. ??? will be more than happy to help you get to the right place.
Will there be alcohol?
The bride and groom will be providing a keg for the evening and wine for the wedding toast. If you have a preferred drink, however, you are more than welcome to bring it for your enjoyment.
Tell me about the car pool.
If your nervous about finding the location of the ceremony, you are welcome to meet at the reception location and ride over with or follow other guests to the ceremony location. This will also be helpful, as there is limited parking at the ceremony location.
Should I RSVP if I can't come?
If you are reading this page, then you are obviously interested enough to know what is happening with the wedding. If you are interested enough to want to know what is happening with the wedding, then you are correct in assuming that we are wondering if you are going to be able to join us. If you can't make it, though, we understand. Just shoot us a declined RSVP and it will help a lot!
